The physicians at the Helmcken Pain Clinic assess and treat a variety of chronic pain conditions using a whole person model. Treatments include: education, referral to physiotherapy or kinesiology, medications (not including opioids or cannabinoids), injections, advanced procedures and referrals to other physicians. We assess patients at each appointment and determine the best course of therapy. Physicians at the Helmcken Pain Clinic will not perform injections unless they are necessary. This means that you might not get an injection at your appointment, even if you want one.
